PARADISA HISTORY:
Three years. Where do we begin? When Tesla came to Paradisa, his head was still inflated as ever, and he didn't hesitate in trying to figure out the logic behind Paradisa and how it worked. He was arrogant, selfish, and all around a person that no one in their right mind would like, and made many enemies among the people of Paradisa. But somehow, against all odds, he made friends. A vampire by the name of Maladict, who he met on the first day he came into the castle, struck up a sort of odd friendship with him,in which they tolerated each other's company by snarking at one another and generally being obnoxious towards everyone else.
Helen Magnus, the love of his life that he had been chasing for so long, came to Paradisa, and of course, Tesla stuck to her like a fly to honey. Of course, she continued to rebuke his advances, but that had never stopped him, even though he was beginning to slowly realize that his dream of her returning his feelings would never happen.
She left the castle, and he was distraught. It only took a short while before she came back again, and he was happy as if she had never left. He was starting to grow frustrated with the castle with its magic and ways of putting people into embarrassing and hurtful situations. So, when a certain people-eating monster by the name of Riful suggested that they join forces, Tesla didn't entirely reject the offer.
The breaking point finally came when Helen left the castle again. Annoyed with it all, he threw his efforts into helping Riful, building weapons to battle the castle residents and kidnapping a few people as well. When Riful's plan failed and Tesla was captured, the discovery of what he had done shocked many of his fellow residents, including Maladict, and he was put into the castle jail as punishment for his crimes. Of course, this meant that everyone who he had relationships with now distrusted him, and Tesla had to deal with the fact that no matter what he would do from that point on, there would be a steep cliff to climb when it came to getting on anyone's good side again.
He spent a long time in jail- well over three months - and over that period he talked to Maladict, who was one of the guards of his cell. Their friendship had been made more awkward due to his betrayal, but she seemed to be the only one who stuck around. The arrival of James Watson made him happier, but now he was focusing on rethinking his whole approach to things. It wasn't right, what he did. He didn't want to be hated, like he had been hated throughout his entire life. He didn't want to be a hero, but he wasn't exactly willing to be a villain all over again.
He was released for a little while when Helen came back, this time suffering from the ill effects of traveling through time. During his "leave", he finally gathered the courage to visit Maladict and apologize to her. When he did so, however, he got the shock of his life: she told him she loved him.
And it was that moment when he realized that his crush on Helen was nothing more than a crush. He had feelings for Maladict, too.
Eventually he was let out of prison, and slowly started to get back in the castle's goo graces again. He spent time with Helen and James, but more than anyone else, he spent time with Maladict. Although it took a long time for them to get into relationship things that people would've done in days (kissing each other, going on dates, that sort of thing), they became closer, and later when Maladict moved into his room, he didn't complain a bit. (Okay, well a little bit since it was unexpected, but he accepted it, all the same.) Eventually, he even proposed to her and she accepted (though this was because of magic candy, I kid you not.)
Basically, Tesla started a turn around. While he was still a jerk and still willing to insult anyone he thought was stupid to their face, he sort of softened a little and became more willing to help the good side than sit on his fence in the morally grey zone. Thanks to the people around him, he started to use his genius to better the lives of others rather than do it all for himself.
When he returns back to Paradisa, he'll be a little annoyed (darn castle shenanigans again), but he'll be happy too. For the last three years, it became his home, with people he liked and loved. Though he'll complain loudly at the losses and the world changes and whatever the castle throws at him, he'll still be happy.
As long as he's surrounded with the people he keeps closest to him, he'll be happy.
WHAT THEY ORIGINALLY LOST: When Nikola came to Paradisa, he found hat he could no longer can conduct electricity through his body. This will be extremely upsetting to him, because he could no longer take shortcuts with his inventions and power them himself. He was shocked multiple times during his stay in Paradisa and he hated it like nothing else- and guess what, he'll still hate it! It takes the easy way out of powering his inventions.
SECOND LOSS: Nikola Tesla is an insulting sarcasm machine, so for his second loss, if he spends too much time belittling someone, he'll make a compliment about the other person in voluntarily. This wont happen when he's just making side comments, but when he's focusing on a person and just keep going on telling them how stupid they are/their father is a hamster/stuff like that, then he'll make one- and it'll be sincere. If he tries to resist, he'll get a severe headache that will only go away until he finds the person again to make a compliment to.
INTENT: I just really miss the character and his development in Paradisa, and I missed the game, so here I am. :)
